2005 House Bill 2506 (Country of Origin Labeling of Meat Products)

  • Introduced by Rep. Lyle Koenen, Rep. Aaron Peterson and Rep. Brita Sailer on May 9, 2005, to require all meat sold in Minnesota be clearly labled with the country of origin. Vendors who fail to do so would be subject to a misdemeanor and fines as follows: a) for a first offense, a vendor shall be fined up to $100; b) for a second offense, a vendor shall be fined up to $250; and c) for a third or subsequent offense, a vendor shall be fined up to $500 (SF2294 Companion Bill).
