  • Introduced by Rep. Jim Abeler, Rep. Ron Abrams, Rep. Laura Brod, Rep. Ron Erhardt, Rep. Pat Garofalo, Rep. Ann Lenczewski, Rep. John Lesch, Rep. Tim Mahoney, Rep. Loren Solberg and Rep. Andrew Westerberg on January 6, 2005, to allow the University of Minnesota to issue bonds in an unspecified amount to build a new Gopher football stadium on campus. An unspecified amount would be appropriated annually from the general fund and credited to a newly established "University stadium fund." An unspecified amount would have to be pledged from nonstate general fund revenue before the first payment for the stadium could be made. The bill also allows the University of Minnesota to cancel its lease with the Metrodome upon completion of the stadium (SF115 Companion Bill).
