2005 House Bill 53 (U of M Football Stadium)

  • Introduced by Rep. Ron Erhardt and Rep. Tim Mahoney on January 6, 2005, to require the recommendation of up to $89 million in state funding for a new gopher football stadium when the University of Minnesota has at least $133,100,000 in nonstate general fund money designated for that purpose. Construction materials for the stadium would be tax exempt, and the University would be allowed to cancel its lease with the Metrodome when the stadium is complete.

    • Motion by Rep. Ron Erhardt on January 12, 2005, to add Representative Mahoney as an author of HF53. The motion passed in the House by voice vote on January 12, 2005.
