  • Introduced by Sen. Steve Kelley, Sen. Cal Larson, Sen. James P. Metzen, Sen. Geoff Michel and Sen. Lawrence J. Pogemiller on January 6, 2005, to allow the University of Minnesota to issue bonds in an unspecified amount to build a new Gopher football stadium on campus. An unspecified amount would be appropriated annually from the general fund and credited to a newly established "University stadium fund." An unspecified amount would have to be pledged from nonstate general fund revenue before the first payment for the stadium could be made. The bill also allows the University of Minnesota to cancel its lease with the Metrodome upon completion of the stadium (HF33 Companion Bill).
    • Referred to the Senate Finance Committee on January 6, 2005.
    • Motion by Sen. Geoff Michel on January 26, 2005, that SF115 be withdrawn from the Finance Committee and re-referred to the State and Local Government Operations Committee. The motion passed in the Senate by voice vote on January 26, 2005.
