  • Introduced by Sen. Charles "Chuck" W. Wiger on January 6, 2005, to spend $150,000 from state bonds for Maplewood to complete restoration of the “Bruentrup farm.” The money would not be available until at least an equal amount has been committed to the project from nonstate sources (HF332 Companion Bill).

What a waste of money. If this is so important to Maplewood's history, then the people of Maplewood can fund the resoration of the farm, not the state gov't. Of all things to waste money on...

As if Minnesota doesn't have enough farms in the first place! It's not as though we need to spend taxpayer dollars to preserve them. Once again, a perfect example of wasteful government spending!
