2005 Senate Bill 4 (Ethanol Mandate Increase)

Jim Vickerman on January 6, 2005, to double the level of ethanol mandated to be included in gasoline sold in Minnesota from 10 percent to 20 percent by 2010 or when at least 50 percent of the new model automobiles offered for sale in the state are warrantied for fuel with 20 percent ethanol by volume (HF223 Companion Bill).

The state would set a goal of having at least 20 percent of liquid fuel sold in the state by the end of 2015 be derived from renewable sources (The report was adopted on January 24th with the recommendation that the bill pass as amended and be re-referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Committee).
